How do I request a seat?

Go to www.flystandby.co.za and nominate your date of travel between your chosen domestic cities.

How secure is my voucher?

The voucher we issue is as good as cash.  Keep that number private and to yourself. For your protection the voucher is tied to an identity number (usually the holder of the credit card used to pay for it).  The user (traveler) may of course be a third party but our call centre will require the original id number to authorise such an issue.

What will my ticket look like?

It is actually a number that is issued upon confirmation of your seat.  We will advise you of the number by email and SMS. The reference number is presented to the airline at the time of check-in; they will then give you a boarding card.

Are there any travel restrictions?

You will be subject to the standard conditions of the airline concerned.  Benefits (such as baggage allowances and meals) depend on which airline is your carrier.

Why can I not get this deal direct with the airlines?

Airlines can (and do) offer seats cheaper than we do!  You will often see the advertisements for the specials.  You have to get up very early; usually those unbelievable prices apply to one or two seats only!  Airlines need to balance their books and will price according to demand.  Our seats are often only released when they are convinced they cannot sell any more themselves.

Where’s the catch?

No catches here, the price is all inclusive.  That is the price includes VAT, any surcharges AND airport taxes as may apply.
